You entered my life in such a passionate way,
You swept me off my feet, so gently and gracefully,
You gave my life meaning – the same way words are defined in a dictionary,
You made vows, promises, you showed me for some of my burdens on your precious shoulders you carried,
In so many ways I have attempted to show you the same,
Always trying to tell you, devote myself to you, or simply shelter you and shoulder all blame,
To know you has been the blessing as my heart speeds up its beat,
Speeds up every time the air we breathe shares the same space – I’m complete!
This woman I speak of is real in every sense,
All day I dream of her, teary eyed sometimes about where and with whom she went,
I dream, I dream, a dream of all dreams,
Being engulfed by love, always in her arms, affectionate in all things,
She looks with fear, and hurt in her eyes,
Her heart is loving, pure, and real – it tells no lies,
I see you there so vividly,
I reach for you slowly and always touch you gently,
I dream you’re there, you’re far, and near,
I continue to reach only to grasp the air,
I see you at the end of the aisle,
My life, my love in all white and a sheer see thru veil covers your tears and smile,
You walk slowly as I cannot wait,
I have dreamed for so many years of this very date,
And in my dream we both have vowed,
During our ceremony words to you I say out loud,
I cannot hold back in my dreams you see,
For all my life this dream has been a reality,
I dream of you so softly back at me you stare,
As you say I do to being Mrs. Jean-Pierre,
My life is complete, and my dreams have come true!
Only to awake and find that my dream was not real and no actual signs of you,
I’ve captured your scent, I know you’re real,
I’ve felt your eyes on me, I know how your touch can heal,
I have seen you in the morning, evening, and of course in my dreams at night,
You have always managed to slip away, but have never disappeared from my site,
I see your lips moving, but cannot understand what you’re saying,
I believe, to me over and over again, its your name you are saying,
I know you’re walking, you’re living, you’re breathing the same air,
I just don’t know if you’re near or far for either of us to know and finally share,
I dream of you, I did years ago as it was written in “The Girl Of My Dreams”,
So needed, so wanted, so desired, even as an adolescent teen….
As a young adult now, of you I still dream.
