Reached for a star in the sky,
Reached so far I overextended myself
-Thought I would die,
Was not in vain,
For I was able to sustain,
Oh how memorable the pain,
I remember how it poured down rain,
I opened up my hands for in them something was shining powerfully bright,
Had to put on my sun shades for it shown so powerfully – t’was your light,
In my palms rest the glimmering, gleaming, glowing you,
Brief moments of panic for in the beginning didn’t know if I was even worthy of you,
I asked for this, went after it, and now you I have obtained,
Sun came back out after the rain and your glow seemingly glimmered on powerfully and remained,
Ever so bright thereafter every single night I’m thankful for my shining star,
Had to place you back amongst the sky as with me you no longer are,
Takes all my might, every single night to not pluck you from the sky,
Though I know where you belong, aware that you are right at home, you’re more than the apple of my eye,
Yes I cry -I mean what man wouldn’t for in the end it is my loss,
I try to keep you in perspective, in the present, but every night I see you I unravel internally raging
– I know your cost,
I know your value, your meaning, your destiny, your life,
I know who you are, what you are, and that you are more than just a light,
I know you form a message and seek world peace,
Little do you know how many wishes you are told –
So many wishes made upon you in just one glimpse,
in just one peak.
