“Just Because My Eyes Don’t Tear”
Because you see no tears in my eyes,
Doesn’t mean that I feel no pain inside,
Understand my heart too does cry,
Though you may not see how hard it is and how hard I try,
Pleasing words aren’t always going to resolve what internally resides,
Resides…..
Let that sink in as it isn’t temporary or something created overnight,
I can weep silently upon reflections of my life,
Seeing things that secretly to myself I must only confide,
To explain the hurt or even the happiness, words at times I cannot find – please believe me I’ve tried,
Most times it is the lack of comprehension or even possibly my own lack of clarity that keeps the conversations narrow and wide,
Still time flies,
Still at times I agonize,
Wishing it was able to instead go counterclockwise,
You know before the boat in the water capsized,
Before the tears started and actions didn’t happen that lead to words that lied,
Love was like then turned into dislike and regret bundled in disguise,
Funny when your heart hurts you can look back see your mistakes clearly analyzed,
So with that I am careful on what I say and who I criticize,
Because I have no idea who, what, nor where they’ve been throughout their lives,
Perfection in my realm is not at all advertised,
Although greatness is heavily emphasized,
When she came around me instant butterflies,
Wonder why they suddenly decided to colonize,
Her love would simply energize,
My whole future I had to revise,
Spent many nights together fulfilling things I never thought would have happened – simply fantasized,
This is real, uncut, not circumcised,
When she left my heart felt burglarized,
Soul severely compromised,
At a point my life was jeopardized,
Just because my eyes don’t tear, or it isn’t publicized,
Televised,
Doesn’t mean my heart isn’t crying, hurting, vandalized, and traumatized,
The time is now to prioritize and revitalize,
Just because…….
