I REMEMBER WHEN YOU SAT ACROSS FROM ME,
ME STARRING AT YOUR EYES, YOUR FACE, YOUR HAIR, YOUR SMILE AND THE CREASES AROUND YOUR MOUTH SWEET AND CRINKLY,
CRINKLY AS YOU SQUINT YOUR EYES TO TRY AND FIGURE ME OUT – EVER PUZZLING,
PUZZLING BECAUSE I WAS NOT OF YOUR ORDINARY,
ORDINARY YOU SURELY WERE NOT,
NOT HUGGING YOU AND KISSING YOU WAS IMPOSSIBLE AND URGES I HAD TO CONSTANTLY FIGHT – TRUST ME I FOUGHT,
FOUGHT, LOST, BUT IN MY ARMS YOU I GOT,
SKIN SO SILKY SMOOTH,
AND A SCENT I LOVE A LOT,
NOW I AM DISTRAUGHT,
YOU LEFT ME LONG AGO,
I DREAM OF THE WISHING WELL THAT WE WOULD HAVE FILLED TOGETHER AS LOVE WOULD RELENTLESSLY UNFOLD,
US TOGETHER GROWING OLD,
NOW A DAYS IT IS JUST A WORLD SO COLD,
EVEN BY THE WATERS WE WALKED YOUR WARM HEART AND BODY KEPT ME CLOSE TO THOSE MEMORIES I HOLD,
YET I KNOW,
YOU DESERVED MORE THAN I COULD SOW,
SO…..
SOME DAYS TIME MOVES SO SLOW,
I TAKE A WALK ALONG THE PIERS AND WALK THE BLACK PATH TO THE BEACH WATCHING THE WAVES AND THE BIRDS PUT ON A SHOW,
I MISS YOUR SILKY WAYS AND HOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU JUST FLOWS,
SIMPLY PUT TO GROW SHE HAD TO LET ME GO,
WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN – SHOULD HAVE BEEN, WE WILL NEVER…….
