“MR. MIRROR”

MR. MIRROR ON MY WALL,

YOU HAVE WATCHED ME GROW FROM SHORT TO TALL,

I GAINED A LITTLE WEIGHT I AM NO LONGER SMALL,

YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AROUND – YOU WATCHED ME EVOLVE,

EVERY MORNING FROM SQUIRMING TO THE DAY THAT I CRAWLED,

MADE MY WAY TO YOU ON MY OWN TWO FEET AS I WALKED DOWN THE HALL,

YOU HAVE SEEN ME RISE YOU HAVE SEEN ME FALL,

IN YOUR FACE I HAVE SMILED, I HAVE CRIED, I HAVE PROCLAIMED IT ALL,

I HAVE WRITTEN WHILE STARING OFF AND SEEING VISIONS THAT I OFTEN RECALL,

MR. MIRROR SO MANY INSECURITIES IN ME YOU DID INSTALL,

BROKE MY HEART AT TIMES SO A REPAIR, REBOOT, I NEEDED A RE INSTALL,

SOME HURT, SOME WORRIES, WHEN IN YOUR EYES I STARRED – I SAW IT ALL,

ALL MY IMPERFECTIONS YOU SAW ME NAKED YOU SAW EACH FLAW,

WHILE OTHERS MAY SEE A VIVID PICTURE THROUGH MY WRITINGS I DRAW,

I SEE THEM AS VIVID MEMORIES THAT YOU AND I EXPERIENCED AND STILL EXPERIENCE MR. MIRROR ON MY WALL,

YOU’VE ALWAYS SEEN MY EMOTIONS UNSEASONED, UNCOOKED, THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SO RAW,

AT MY HAPPIEST MOMENTS TO MY LOWS FROM WHICH YOU I STAYED AWAY FROM – I SIMPLY WITHDRAW,

THE SUN, THE SKY, AND  THE MOON I WATCHED FROM THE REFLECTION YOU CREATE I WATCHED ALL IN SUCH AWE,

LEFT ME FEELING SO EMPTY, SO UNWANTED, JUST SO BLAH,

MY EYES TELL THE STORY AND MY HEART KNOWS THE PAIN,

FOR WHEN YOU SAW ME WEEP ON YOU I OFTEN LEFT STAINS,

YOU’VE SEEN ME RISE UP AND OVERCOME ON MANY OCCASIONS NO MATTER THE STRAIN,

MR. MIRROR I THANK YOU FOR WATCHING AND LISTENING,

FOR ALWAYS HAVING AN OPEN MIND ABOVE ALL THINGS,

YOU NEVER JUDGED ME NO MATTER WHAT YOU HAVE SEEN,

I POURED OUT MY HEART TO YOU AS YOU WATCHED ME SING,

YOU DIDN’T LAUGH WHEN I CUT MY EYEBROWS OFF – INSTEAD YOU GAVE ME A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON THINGS,

THEY GREW BACK JUST LIKE WE DISCUSSED AND WOW TO ME JOY DID IT BRING,

MR. MIRROR THIS IS MY ODE TO YOU – THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

Although this poem was written from a guys point of view, this poem is just perfect for a woman that has flaws to.
